A form of alienation is also present in the works of Dario D’Aronco, in which the themes of obsolescence and tautology are associated with the techniques he uses. The work Composizione-S, on exhibition at the Strozzina, consists of a series of translations into different media ranging from acrylic paint to 3D printing, from animation to PVC sheet, in search of a middle ground between painting, sculpture and video. The semantic value is frozen and the reflection becomes centralin the rendering of the object. The work is based on the transformation of the invitation to an exhibition the artist took part in, translated withdifferent techniques but according to the rule of the golden ratio. The three-dimensional object, painted, then scanned, printed and projected in different formats, is translated into sculpture, thus acquiring a new solidness and obliterating the limits of time.
Dario D’Aronco was born in 1980 in Latina, Italy. He lives and works between Rotterdam, Netherlands, and Rome, Italy. Among his recent solo exhibitions: (eidolon)3 illustrations for voice, De Vleeshal,Middelburg (2013); Veduta isomorfica per vocee luce, Fondazione Volume!, Rome (2013); Soundcorner, Auditorium Parco della musica,Rome (2013).
