Combining natural and artificial elements, Oscar Tuazon creates works that recall both American Minimalism, the aesthetics of DIY, and vernacular architecture. Built on unstable equilibria, combinations of elements that make up his sculptures are often the result of a path halfway between sculpture and architecture, in which objects of consumption and their potential are questioned. At the Strozzina, Tuazon presents a work in which an item of daily use is inserted into an evolving modular structure. The artist’s works are instable structures, critical constructions through which he searches for an intermediate dimension between sculpture and installation.
Oscar Tuazon was born in 1975 in Seattle, Washington, USA. Lives and works in Los Angeles, California, USA. His solo exhibitions include: Oscar Tuazon.
