Experimental tour for middle school, proposed during the exhibition Portraits and Power. People, Politics and Structures (1 October 1st, 2010 – January 23rd, 2011).
Before visiting the exhibition, students are divided into small groups and examine works of art from the exhibition, making up a story from elements in the images they are provided. A card with directions and questions helps students to analyze the work and to choose the details upon which to build their own story related to the situation depicted. While visiting the show the starting point in the analysis of the works will be the students’ stories, which then develop into a reflection on how power can be represented.
