The first beautiful thing

For whom: middle school students.
When: Tuesday to Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm

An activity for reflecting on the ways in which beauty is revealed before our eyes and on our ability to re-create it through language.

A memory, an image, one, two, three words.  Boys and girls who participate in the workshop will be asked, first of all, to close their eyes and think of the first beautiful thing that comes to their minds. This brief but important moment of reflection and personal elaboration of the idea of ​​beauty will begin the journey toward the many possibilities of the concept of beauty proposed by the exhibition, a concept impossible to define in a singular or universal way.

In front of the works of the artists which, according to the students, best represent an idea of ​​beauty, each participant will be invited to write the three most meaningful and evocative words able to encompass the concept of beauty. At the end of the exhibition, back in the lab, we will show the students all the matches that were created during the visit between their words and works of the artists in the exhibition. With combinations of random ‘words of beauty’, each participant can then draft a short poem, a small and “beautiful” haiku.

Visit + workshop: € 6,00 per student (admission included)
Reservations required.
Free admission for accompanying teachers.
Duration: two hours.
