SPECIAL PROJECT  –  Legami/Bonds

The students of the Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze, Fondazione Studio Marangoni and LABA Libera Accademia di Belle Arti dialogue with the artists and exhibits of the Family Matters exhibition in an effort to devise new projects which will be presented in the exhibition on 5 June 2014.

To tie in with its Family Matters. Portraits and experiences of family today exhibition, the CCC Strozzina’s Education Department has developed a project which it has called LEGAMI/BONDS designed for students from some of Florence’s Fine Arts Academies. The project, produced in conjunction with their art teachers, is designed to trigger a theoretical and practical debate within the various different study paths, focusing on the dynamics and structures that define the concept of the family and, on a broader level, the bonds and relationships that come into being within what we might term the family circle. The debate on the theme, with the support of educational material handed out to teachers and explored in greater depth in the course of an encounter in the academy and a tour of the exhibition, gives participants their cue for the production of new works of art and becomes a tool allowing the students to probe new areas of research.

At the end of the work and study period in class, the most significant productions will be presented in the course of a public conference at the CCC Strozzina on Thursday 5 June at 18.30
