Above The Tree

Marco Bernacchia a.k.a. Above the Tree, traces a path of investigation into the potentials of sound / noise (?) obtained from musical instruments. Often his sound is reminiscent of popular melodies, folk rhythms or a minimal kind of blues. In parallel with his solo project, Mark has played in bands such as M.A.Z.C.A. and Gallina. The project Above the Tree is an alter-ego of Bernacchia that when he performs, he masquerades as a mythological (fantastical) figure: half man, half chicken. This character is a double with its own parallel life, as the chicken behaves instinctively and short-sightedly and sometimes the performances become chaotic / scientific experiments. His tours frequently take him to the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Switzerland, Slovenia, Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Germany, on a non-stop journey that began in 2007.

The second Thursday of each month from 19:30 to 22:00, the courtyard of Palazzo Strozzi comes alive with the live music of the show ACOUSTIC CARPET, organized in collaboration with Le Aspen Club, and the activities
of CREATIVI IN CORTILE to give shape to your ideas and create objects to share with others.
