The most significant moment of the day for Lester Burnham is his daily masturbation in the shower.  Otherwise, his life is always the same, with a job he hates, and a wife and daughter who loathe him and consider him a loser. But one day he meets Angela, his daughter’s classmate, and is struck by her sensuality. From that moment on his life changes: he quits his job, gets a good severance, and begins to truly live. His friendship with the new neighbor Ricky, a marijuana dealer obsessed with his neo-Nazi father, helps Lester to realize that life is worth living to the fullest.
