Dan Perjovschi has worked as cartoonist for daily newspapers in Rumania, critically commenting upon political and social events. As part of the art system, he understands deeply its principles that he turns into the object of his sharp and sometimes sarcastic visual comments. For this occasion Perjovschi has created a site-specific installation consisting of a large number of sketches which he drew with charcoal directly onto the walls. Every pictogram stands for itself, illustrating complex matters in extreme reduction. With the installation created by Perjovschi for the CCCS in Florence the artist engages in a visual analysis of the art system, deconstructing the network of relations and breaking it down to readable fragments the artist depicts the principles of value creation within the closed circles of the art world and sketches the inner laws that govern its functioning.
