By combining different techniques such as drawing, painting and photography, N. Dash reveals her particular attention to matter: small bits of fabric are hand-rubbed until they are about to lose their structural integrity, turning into informal micro-sculptures which are then photographed by the artist. In her works, featuring instability and wear, N. Dash puts the spotlight on the fragility and transience of sculpture,documented through photography. Her works do not last over time if not through their technical translation. The present is a unique moment,a moment captured by the click of the camera.
N. Dash was born in 1980 in Miami Beach, Florida, USA. She lives and works in New York and New Mexico, USA. Recent solo and two-person exhibitions are: Hammer Projects: N.
