ARTIST TALK / Loris Cecchini
On the occasion of the site-specific work created for the courtyard of Palazzo Strozzi, Loris Cecchini present to the public of the CCC Strozzina his artistic career. From the photographic works (Photo assemblies) to the most recent interventions installations, the works of Loris Cecchini are opportunities to reflect on the space and the perception of those living there. The talk will be an occasion to deepen the design of Aerial Boundaries, the installation visible in the courtyard of Palazzo Strozzi until 1 July 2012.
Loris Cecchini was born in Milan in 1969. In the eighties he attended the Art Institute in Siena, and then continue his artistic education, between 1989 and ’91, the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence. Between 1991 and ’94 he completed his studies at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan. He has held solo exhibitions in galleries and museum spaces including Kunstverein (Heidelberg), Teseco Foundation (Pisa), Palais de Tokyo (Paris), Shanghai Duolun MoMA, PS1 MoMA (New York), Centre for Contemporary Art Lugi Pecci (meadow), Musée d’art modern St.Etienne. He also participated in many group exhibitions at the Venice Biennial (2001) and Shanghai (2006).
