Courtyard of Palazzo Strozzi – free entry
Blue Willa
Blue Willa is the new name of the Italian quartet of art rock Baby Blue which has been chosen to continue a different musical journey. The new album, which will come in the autumn – winter 2012/2013 is produced by the Californian musician Carla Bozulich (Evangelista, the Geraldine Fibbers, Ethyl Meatplow) which, in addition to directing and recording, is contributing singing in many tracks. The similarities between the band and Carla draw a road halfway between electric and Diamanda Galás Pixies, Iggy Pop and Kurt Weill: a mix of music that highlights the legacy Mediterranean with a hypnotic melody of Native Americans, a soundscape ethereal and unreal , those that seem to come from the fantasies of Edgar Allan Poe or Italo Calvino, mysterious sounds and animals, bells, gypsies and punks into one sound.
