Writing Contest
New themes and forms in American art from the ’70s to 2000
Writing contest on contemporary American art (held in Italian language)
On the occasion of the exhibition American Dreamers (9 March to 15 July 2012), the Centre for Contemporary Culture Strozzina announces a competition with the aim to promote new critical voices among the younger generations of Italian scholars and art historians.
The contest requires the writing of a critical essay (in Italian) devoted to one or more American artists who were able to experiment their work through new forms of experimentation, marking the collective imagination and the history of American art from the ’70s to 2000.
The authors of the three best contributions will be invited to the Centre for Contemporary Culture Strozzina to present the contents of theirs text in a public lecture to be held on June 21, 2012. One of the essays will also be published on the CCC Strozzina website and the online magazine Senzacornice.
