PERSIAN PELICAN (indie folk)
Persian Pelican is a genetically manipulated folk music project in which Andrea Pulcini combines American songwriting, overdoses of Iranian cinema and Douglas Sirk melodramas, tales of minor daily depravity. The first album, entitled These Cats Wear Skirts To Expiate Original Sin, was entirely self-produced and recorded in a small bag factory in the Piceno region. It was released in September 2008 and has been described as “intimistic and surprising, capable of transporting listeners in a compelling spleen from which they will find it difficult to extricate themselves”. He moved to Barcelona for two years in 2010, working with other Catalan musicians and performing in numerous clubs in the city. It was here that he wrote the tracks for his second album entitled How To Prevent a Cold, recorded by Michele Boreggi at the Mio Studio in Rome and released in October 2012. Its soundscapes are barely veined with electric power, embracing the shape of song and melody while travelling the least trodden paths, creating domestic and violent portraits in which love is colder than death.

The second Thursday of each month from 19:30 to 22:00, the courtyard of Palazzo Strozzi comes alive with the live music of the show Acoustic Carpet, organized in collaboration with the magazine LUNGARNO, and the activities of Creative in the courtyard to give shape to your ideas and create objects to share with others.
