Anonymous-archetypal artifacts and conditions of contemporary design

In recent decades, much has changed in the world of industrial design.
 To discuss this turning point of the discipline, Alberto Bassi talks about the Italian design from the revaluation of the so-called “anonymous” object. In Italian creativity,what matters is not the name of the designer, but the quality of the product.

Alberto Basi is a historian and critic of industrial design. He is director of the Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design at the Faculty of Arts and Design, IUAV University of Venice and San Marino.

Con la grande mostra dedicata ad Ai Weiwei (23 settembre 2016-22 gennaio 2017) per la prima volta Palazzo Strozzi diventa uno spazio espositivo unitario che comprende facciata, Cortile, Piano Nobile e Strozzina.

L’arte contemporanea esce dalla Strozzina e si espande sia a livello espositivo che di comunicazione, in uno scenario in cui Palazzo Strozzi partecipa attivamente all’avanguardia artistica del nostro tempo.
