Paolo Ferri
Who are the digital natives and how do they learn?
The advent of digital technologies and the Internet has divided the world into two categories: immigrants and digital natives. What makes these groups different is their means of communication and the ways they learn and share information. Paolo Ferri introduces an analysis of today’s young generation, born and raised with the presence of blogs, video games, Facebook; but most importantly his work launches proposals on how to effectively deal with this new generation in the sphere of education.
Paolo Maria Ferri teaches theories and techniques of new media and instructional technology at the Faculty of Education University of Milan Bicocca. At the university he directs LIPS (Computer Laboratory of Experimental Educational) Observatory New Media numediaBios. Among his publications include Digital Natives (2011), The digital school (2008), the Digital Kids. How children use computers and how they might use their parents and teachers (2008).
