|
| The special activities are destined for first-
and second-grade lower-secondary school students and for groups of adults
from cultural centers or clubs who want to collaborate with the art mediators. This broad audience needs different types of mediation: they have different approaches and positions towards art and especially towards contemporary art, in addition to the different age and social position. We try to look at multiple directions, to learn to listen to the audience and to expand our point of view and to build a place for art and its mediation. Activities for young people eleven years old and up What a face! This is an idea for a workshop for young people who wan to try and with digital tools. In this case, the boys and girls will be motivated to use digital photography. The work in the laboratory aims to analyse the connections between the facial articulation and the corresponding emotions. The participants will take pictures of each others in the moment of acting out emotions with their faces. At the end there should be six photos, based on six main emotions: joy, surprise, fear, sadness, rage and disgust. The voice of the colors The contents of this activity are based on the emotional wheel and the workshop is based on the work of Katharina Grosse. Starting from the suggestive power of the color itself and the energy of the production and the method of the artist, the participants are invited to think about the theory of emotions and their correlation with the different colors. Is there a connection between our associations with the colors and their tonality? How do colors interact with our emotions? Those themes will addressed during the guided tour, with the additional support of educational tools in the exposition room and in the workshop as well. This activity can take different forms, depending on the different desires of the people who shape it (work with water color, drawing...). Activities for young people from fourteen years to adult Chameleons Based on the work of Bill Viola, this workshop is for people who want to learn to work with the digital video camera. From the work „Observance“, the workshop tries to reflect the physiological component of the emotions. The workshop lasts more than one session: the first step is the visit at the exhibition, with particular attention shown to the work of Bill Viola. Then, the group will turn their hand to practical work, to expand on the experience had in the exposition. The work consists of the production of a short video, in which the visitors will film and be filmed in the moment of expressing different emotional phases: the transition from one emotion to another will be slowed, in an almost imperceivable way, like Bill Viola does in his works (for example in „The locked garden“, Kunsthalle Bremen, Germany). At the end of all the meetings, the participants will receive a copy of their work on a CD ROM or DVD. 3 Verses about our Emotions An emotion is not only evoked from the sense of sight; an artwork is not destined for just one of our five senses. To express different emotions it is necessary to look at an artwork and to experience it with all the senses. I see an artwork, I smell it, I taste it, I hear it... Our sensations reflect our senses, making up an aesthetical experience. Considering every single artwork, the visitors will be invited to name their art-sensorial experiences and, together with the educators, will write a haiku. Haiku is a genre of Japanese poetry, usually consisting of three different lines with a distinct grammatical break, called kireji, usually placed at the end of either the first five or second seven syllables. The goal of the workshop is to bring the visitors to express themselves in writing and not only in speaking: the art mediation thus attempts to build a bridge from a subject to another. |
